Our Student Leadership Team
JCM isn't something we do for students.
We build it with students.
At JCM, students don't have to wait until they're “qualified” or experienced to have a voice. You can help shape what we do, welcome new people, lead conversations, create events, tell stories, care for the community, and help us figure out what comes next.
You don't need to have it all figured out. You just need to care about this community and be willing to show up.
Community Life
Help make JCM feel like home.
Community Life leaders help create the culture of JCM— welcoming new students, planning gatherings, noticing who is on the edges, and helping people find their people.
Spiritual Life
Help us ask better questions.
Spiritual Life leaders help shape the spiritual practices of JCM, including prayer, worship, Bible study, and conversations about faith.
Storyteller
Tell people what JCM is really like.
Storytellers help capture and share the stories, weird moments, meaningful conversations, and everyday life of the community.
Hospitality
Bring the energy.
The Hype Person helps get people excited, make things fun, and make sure nobody misses what's happening.
Resident Advisor
Help make Redeemer House a home.
RAs help create a healthy, welcoming community for students living in JCM housing.
What does student leadership actually look like?
You might:
Welcome someone who's showing up for the first time.
Help plan Food for Thought.
Lead a prayer or reflection.
Organize a retreat.
Make a ridiculous Instagram post.
Notice that someone has disappeared and check on them.
Help shape a new JCM program.
Tell us when we're getting something wrong.
Bring an idea to the table.
Make sure someone sitting alone gets invited into the conversation.
Leadership doesn't always come with a title.
Some of the most important leaders at JCM are the people who notice when someone is sitting alone, bring a friend to Food for Thought, start a conversation, offer an idea, or stay late to clean up.
If you're helping make this community more welcoming, you're already practicing leadership.
